MILAN / MERSEYSIDE Inter Milan have reactivated contact with Liverpool in recent days to explore whether negotiations for English midfielder Curtis Jones can be revived.
The potential transfer had reached a complete standstill over the past three to four weeks, but the Italian champions have reached back out to test the waters and assess if a path forward exists.
Liverpool's Firm Price Tag
Despite Inter probing for an opening, Liverpool's financial position has not altered:
- Valuation Requirement: Liverpool continue to demand €40 million before considering a permanent departure.
- Firm Stance: The Reds have shown no indication of discounting their valuation, placing the burden squarely on Inter to present a proposal that meets the asking price.
Player Intentions and Current Status
Inside the Inter hierarchy, there is growing belief that Jones is keen on making the switch to Serie A. The 25-year-old midfielder has been actively sending signals to demonstrate his desire to wear the Nerazzurri shirt.
However, while communication channels are open once again, a final agreement is far from imminent. Both clubs remain separated on valuation, and significant work remains if a deal is to be finalized during this window.
Reporter's Take: The player's clear desire to join Inter gives the Italian side encouragement, but Liverpool’s €40m bottom line remains the primary hurdle. Reopening dialogue is a start, but turning interest into an official transfer will require Inter to raise their offer significantly.
