MERSEYSIDE / BARCELONA: Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with FC Barcelona to sign defender Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto.

Key Details of the Deal
- Loan Structure: Araujo joins Liverpool on an initial straight loan deal for the 2026/27 season. The agreement includes a non-mandatory option for Liverpool to make the transfer permanent.
- Solving Dual Depth: The 27-year-old Uruguayan international offers high-level versatility, capable of starting at both central defence and right-back addressing Liverpool's exact positional requirements.
- Barcelona Stance: Araujo had drifted down the pecking order under Hansi Flick at Spotify Camp Nou, with Flick favouring Pau Cubarsi and Gerard Martin in central defence and Jules Kounde at right-back.
